Frequently Asked Questions |
Do you use spray? How do you keep apples fresh all year long? Do you have "pick your own"? What apple varieties do you have? What are your Farm hours? |
Do you use spray? |
||
Yes, we do. On our farm we use an IPM (Integrated Pest Management) program, where we only spray as a last resort. If spraying is needed, we only use government approved sprays in accordance with regulations. The fact that we have to be licensed to buy and use these products is your assurance that they are used safely.
These are apples from a tree when zero spray was used. |

How do you keep apples fresh all year long? |
||
We have a
refrigerated cold room where the temperature is
kept at approximately 35° F with plenty of
moisture. This maintains the freshest possible
apples for our customer all year long. We also use C.A. (Controlled Atmosphere) storage. The oxygen level of this storage room is kept at about 2%. Along with the cold temperature and moist air, the apples are prevented from ripening. |

Do you have "pick your own"? |
||
No, we are not set up for "pick your own", sorry! If you would like "pick your own", we would suggest Thiessen Orchards, however they are only open for a limited time of the year.
What apple varieties do you have? |
